If you’re tired of the usual rooftop patios or beaches, but aren’t ready to give up on summer just yet, then have we got news for you! We’ve put together a short list of things to do in Toronto that will keep you entertained long into September. Check them out below and be sure to let us know if you try any!

Check out the CNE

Running from August 16th to September 2nd, The Canadian National Exhibit is an end-of-summer tradition! It’s Canada’s largest community event and one of the top agricultural fairs in North America. All events and exhibits are included in the cost of admission ($16), and don’t miss the rides, shopping, and of course, the Canadian Air Show!

Taste of the Danforth

The largest street festival in Canada is in its 26th year, and runs from August 9th to 11th. Taste of the Danforth celebrates not only the Greek history of Danforth, but multiculturalism across Canada. Taste sample menus, learn various cultural dances, see the Miss Asia pageant, and more!

The festival is not only great for you and your family or friends, but profits are donated back to the community by the GreekTown on the Danforth BIA. Over the years, GreekTown has donated more than $2 million to Toronto East General Hospital (now renamed Michael Garron Hospital), and in 2015, GreekTown made a commitment to a joint hospital project between SickKids and a children’s hospital in Greece – Agia Sofia.

Explore a Different Side of the City

BlogTo has curated a list of hikes in and around Toronto that allow you to take advantage of the “city within in park”. From Festivals and events to active lifestyle options, Toronto has a whole range of activities for those who want to learn and explore. Whether you’re new to the city or have lived here your whole life, there’s always something new to discover. What are some of your favourite summer events? Share with us in the comments!
